The second annual Hawaii Yoga Festival starts Sunday in Puna.
The class schedule features yoga and meditation, as well as Hawaiian culture classes, wellness, dance and performing arts. Programs incorporate Hawaiian ceremonies at various island locations, alongside talks from Hawaiian spiritual kahunas.
More than 40 teachers from across Hawaii will be “descending upon the Yoga Coast here on Hawaii Island, and visitors from around the world will be here to enjoy a playful week filled with yoga, meditation, kirtan, wellness and spiritual exploration,” said a spokesman.
The opening celebration will be at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Green Lake. For a full schedule and more information, visit http://hawaiiyogafestival.com.
The festival runs Sunday through Sunday, Nov. 16. The majority of classes and events will be hosted at Kalani, with others hosted at nearby locations along Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road and in nearby Pahoa.
Most individual classes and events may be attended without a festival pass for $15/$10 kamaaina, and immersions for $25/$20 kamaaina.
